Petersham Country Store— A Taste of Country Life

When visiting Petersham, one must include a stop at the Petersham Country Store, one of the oldest country stores in the United States. Built in 1840, “The Country Store” is a national landmark, with quintessential New England charm.

Residents and visitors delight in the store’s delicious, wholesome, artisan food. Everything is homemade and purveyed from local farmers, bakers, and other food vendors including meats, cheeses, vegetables, wine, beer, maple syrup, and honey from the North Quabbin region. Fresh muffins, scones, and cookies also are offered daily. The store includes a gift shop with local and fair-trade items, as well.

"The Country Store offers friendliness with a good dose of deliciousness, history, and small-town feel . . . I recommend taking a trip as soon as you can."
